Delphi: Fifteen miles from Monticello, Delphi is a community specializing in heritage tourism. The historic Delphi Opera House, once a hub of social entertainment, has been restored to its original grandeur. The site is the setting for a variety of entertainment presentations or a backdrop for weddings and special events. The Wabash and Erie Canal Interpretive Center provides an educational center. The Courthouse Square features shops and eateries around its perimeters.
France Park: Adjacent to White County, Cass County features an extraordinary outdoor recreational site at France Park. Located approximately 17 miles from Monticello, France Park encourages visitors to enjoy swimming or scuba diving in the crystal clear waters of an abandoned stone quarry. Wolf Park: Also located in Battle Ground is one of the State of Indiana’s most popular attractions for international visitors, Wolf Park. The park offers general programming, a guided tour as you learn about wolves, an endangered and misunderstood species. Howl Nights are especially popular with visitors.
Indiana Fiddlers’ Gathering: Battle Ground, June 28-30, 2019: It is approximately 23.6 miles from Monticello to Battle Ground where the Annual Indiana Fiddlers’ Gathering is scheduled. Enjoy a three-day Acoustic Music Festival, featuring traditional old-time folk music, swing and Celtic music.
Purdue University: A world-renowned, public research university, Purdue excels in advancing discoveries in science, technology, engineering and math. The thrill of Big Ten sports and popular entertainment awaits you! Located in West Lafayette, Purdue University is approximately 30 miles from Monticello.
Jasper-Pulaski Fish & Wildlife Area: Travel approximately 30 miles from Monticello to visit one of Indiana’s premier wildlife areas. Administered by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Fish & Wildlife, the area is dedicated to providing a quality hunting and fishing area. In the fall, one of Indiana’s greatest wildlife spectacles occurs here as thousands of Sandhill cranes stop at the shallow marshes on their annual migration south.
